As of 6th April 2024 the rate of National Insurance deductions is being reduced from 10% down to 8%. This is the second decrease to the National Insurance percentage rate since 6th January 2024 saving the average worker around £450 per year. The thresholds for National Insurance remain the same meaning that the rate of 8% does not kick in until your monthly earnings breach £1,048 (weekly earnings £242). For earnings below this level the rate of National Insuance is 0%.
